Required Documents to Apply for Uttarakhand Ration Card
Uttarakhand Ration Card Application Form (Documents Required)
- Address Proof (such as Water/Electricity/Telephone Bill)
- If renting a place, include a Rent Receipt or Agreement
- Surrender Certificate (if transferring from one Town/Gram Panchayat to another)
- Previous Ration Card (if applicable for transfer from another area)
- Certificate of residence and number of family members from the Institutional Head (for Govt/Semi Govt personnel)
- Certificate of residence and number of family members from Institutional Head/Reporting Officer (for individuals employed in Registered Industrial Institutions)
- Certificate of education and residence address from the Institutional Head (for students in Urban Areas)
Procedure to Obtain a New Ration Card
For Urban Areas
- To obtain a new Ration Card, fill out a form available at no cost at the District Supply Office. This form is also downloadable on this site.
- Attach the necessary documents to the form and submit it along with the documents to the Clerk at the DSO Office.
- The Clerk will check your application and documents, providing you with an acknowledgment receipt. The application will then be forwarded to the Supply Inspector (SI) for your area.
- The SI will verify the application and documents, and will also visit your home for further confirmation.
- If the verification is satisfactory, the SI will approve the issuance of the ration card and return the application to the Clerk.
- The Clerk will then create your new Ration Card, calculate your family units, paste the head of the family’s photo, and enter all data into the master register.
- Your Ration Card will be linked to the Fair Price Shop (FPS) nearest to your residence.
- Presenting your acknowledgment receipt to the Clerk will allow you to receive your new Ration Card.
For Rural Areas
- To obtain a new Ration Card, fill out a form available at no cost at the Block Development (BDO) Office. This form is also downloadable on this site.
- Attach the required documents to the form and submit it along with those documents to the Gram Panchayat Officer (GPO) at the BDO Office.
- The GPO will check the form and documents and will issue an acknowledgment receipt. The application will then be forwarded to the Supply Inspector (SI) for your area.
- The GPO will verify the form and documents and will also conduct a home visit for confirmation.
- If the verification is satisfactory, the GPO will approve the issuance of the ration card.
- The GPO will create your new Ration Card, compute your family units, paste the photo of the head of the family, and enter all details into the master register.
- Your new Ration Card will be linked to the nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) to your home.
- Bring your acknowledgment receipt to the GPO to receive your new Ration Card.
