The job card is given to every rural household. It is an official document that gives people the right to work under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB–G RAM G] Act, 2025 previous know as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)}. From 1 July 2026, the new framework replaced MGNREGA and increased the employment guarantee from 100 days to 125 days per financial year.
Eligibility Criteria
Anyone possessing a Job card is eligible to apply for work under this scheme.
- Eligibility: Any person who is above the age of 18 and resides in rural areas is entitled to apply for work.
- Entitlement: Any applicant is entitled to work within 15 days, for as many as he/she has applied, subject to a limit of 100 days per household per year
Job cards are used in many industries such as electrical contracting, plumbing, and facilities management, Repair Workshops. They are used to sending job details to workers out in the field and to get information back about the work done on each job.
Eligibility for Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Card (2026)
Under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025, the eligibility is as follows:

| Demand for Work | After registration, adult members can demand employment through the Gram Panchayat, Programme Officer or authorised person. |
| Time Limit | Employment is required to be provided within 15 days of the application for work; otherwise, unemployment allowance is applicable under the Act. |
