वारी वारीं जन्ममरणाते वारी ।
हारी पडलो आता संकट नीवारी ॥ १ ॥
हे आदिमाता दुर्गा, जन्ममरण के इस चक्कर का पूरी तरह निवारण कर दो। अंबा, संकट से जूझते हुए मैं हार चुका हूँ, अब आप ही इस संकट को मिटा दो।

जय देवी जय देवी जय महिषासुरमथनी ।
सुरवरईश्वरवरदे तारक संजीवनी ॥ धृ. ॥
देवी माँ महिषासुरमर्दिनी की जय हो! अंबा, तुम ही सुरवरों को तथा ईश्‍वर (परमात्मा) को वर देती हो, आप ही तारक हो, आप ही संजीवनी हो।

त्रिभुवनभुवनी पाहता तुजऐसी नाही ।

चारी श्रमले परंतु न बोलवे कांही ॥

साही विवाद करिता पडिले प्रवाही ।

ते तूं भक्तांलागी पावसि लवलाही॥ जय देवी…

हे आदिमाता दुर्गामैया, त्रिभुवन में, समस्त भुवनों में देखा जाये तब भी आप जैसी कोई नहीं है। चारों वेदों ने बहुत परिश्रम किये, परंतु तुम्हारे स्वरूप के बारे में कुछ भी कहा नहीं गया। तुम्हारे स्वरूप के बारे में छह दर्शनों के अनुयायी आपसी विवाद में उलझकर कालप्रवाह में गिर गये। अंबा, इस तरह वेद और दर्शनशास्त्र तुम्हें प्राप्त नहीं कर सकते। परंतु तुम्हें आदिमाता-स्वरूप में भजनेवाले भक्तों पर आप झट से प्रसन्न हो जाती हो।

प्रसन्नवदने प्रसन्न होसी निजदासा ।

क्लेशांपासुनि सोडवी तोडी भवपाशा ॥

अंबे तुजवांचून कोण पुरविल आशा ।

नरहरि तल्लीन झाला पदपंकजलेशा॥ जय देवी…

हे प्रसन्नवदना आदिमाता दुर्गा, तुम अपने दासों पर प्रसन्न होती हो। मैया, मुझे भी सकल क्लेशों से मुक्त कर दो और भवपाशों को तोड़ दो। अंबा, तुम्हारे बिना भला और है ही कौन जो मेरी आस पूरी करेगा! (दुर्गामैया, तुम्हारे अलावा हमारी आस पूरी करनेवाला और कोई भी नहीं है।) हे आदिमाता दुर्गा, यह आरती गानेवाला नरहरि तुम्हारे चरणकमलों की धूलि के कण में तल्लीन हो गया है।
