The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has established the VIKASAM Disabled Welfare Cell. This dedicated cell, named VIKASAM (Vikalangula Kaarya Sankalpam), is the first of its kind among municipal corporations in the country. The primary objective is to assign a specialized identity tag to every differently-abled person within GHMC limits. This unique identifier will facilitate tracking to address their specific needs, offer skill training, encourage the formation of Self Help Groups, and enable access to credit from nationalized banks through bank linkage.
