Form 15H HDFC Bank
Form 15H is a self-declaration form which helps individuals above 60 years of age save Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on the interest income earned by him on his fixed deposits. The assessee is supposed to submit a declaration form to his banker to apply for no deduction or lower deduction for fixed deposits made by him.
Form 15G or 15H has to be submitted by fixed deposit holders at the start of a financial year to the relevant financial entity like a bank. This is done to avoid TDS (tax deducted at source) on the interest income earned.
Taxpayers can submit the Form 15G and Form 15H in the first week of July 2020. For the period beginning 1st April 2021 and up to 30th June 2021, the Form 15G and 15H submitted for FY 2021-22 will be considered as a valid proof for non-deduction of TDS.
