Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai presented the Karnataka Budget 2023-24 on 17th Feb 2022. The budget speech was over 2.30 hours long. He presented a surplus budget of Rs 3.09 lakh crore. The budget has many sops for farmers and students. Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced an increase in the limit of interest-free short-term loan given to farmers from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh from the coming financial year.

- A total of 40.1km length of Metro network will be operational in the current year.
- To improve accessibility to Sir MV terminal at Byappanahalli access roads will be developed at a cost of Rs 300 crore to ease traffic congestion
- BMTC has added 1,311 e-buses and KSRTC 50-ebuses

- Work order for Bengaluru suburban rail project between Chikbanavara and Byappanahalli (corridor 2) via duct work has been commenced at a cost of Rs 860 crore
- For Farmers increase in the limit of interest-free short-term loan given to farmers from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh from the coming financial year
- The state government has proposed to establish a state of the art start-up park at a cost of Rs 30 crore near Kempegowda International Airport
- Bengaluru city to get 20 new police stations: Six women police stations, five traffic police station and nine law & order police stations
- All mechanised boats to be installed with ISRO-developed geo-positioning technology to help SAR of fishers/ boats in distress with an aid of Rs 17 crore
- Rs 50 crore set aside to replace old and non-functional vehicles in various departments of the government in a phased manner
- 411km Bidar-Kalaburagi-Ballary Road will be developed as four-lane road with an expenditure of Rs 7,650 crore jointly by NHAI and state govt
- Govt proposes a 24X7 Cyber Security Operation Centre (CSOC) with cyber experts incorporating modern technology to ensure safety of government websites, online services and for data security.
- Karnataka govt to spend Rs 150 crore on developing 75 important junctions in Bengaluru to reduce traffic congestion.
