PMEGP Scheme Guidelines & Application Form - Summary
The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a great opportunity for anyone looking to start their own business. This new credit-linked subsidy scheme, approved by the Government of India, aims to create large employment opportunities by supporting the setup of micro-enterprises in both rural and urban areas. By merging two earlier schemes— the Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (PMRY) and the Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP)—the PMEGP focuses on generating jobs and empowering local entrepreneurs. Managed by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), this scheme plays a vital role in boosting the Indian economy. ⭐
Objectives of PMEGP
The main goals of the PMEGP are:
- To create self-employment opportunities in rural and urban areas through new ventures and micro-enterprises.
- To help traditional artisans and unemployed youth access job opportunities right where they live.
- To provide long-term and sustainable employment options, keeping young people in rural areas from moving to cities.
- To improve the earnings of artisans, which helps in the growth of both rural and urban employment.
