Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Asoni scheme, which is designed to assist 3.9 million women connected with self-help groups (SHGs). This exciting initiative aims to empower women to become entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary resources to succeed in their chosen businesses.

SHG Business Plan Form – First Phase Grant

In the first phase of this scheme, each applicant will receive a grant of ₹10,000 for the first year. This money can be used to start any business from a list of 145 business plans developed by the government. The total funding allocated for this scheme in the state’s annual budget is an impressive ₹3,900 crore, making it the largest scheme of its kind in Assam.

SHG Business Plan Form – Eligibility

Women from the general and other backward caste (OBC) categories must have no more than three children.
Women from the Moran, Muttock, and tea-tribe communities can qualify if they have four or fewer children.
Women from Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories cannot qualify if they have more than four children.
The limit on the number of children is set to ensure that those who receive the grant can dedicate enough time to their new business.

Documents Required for Assam SHG Business Plan

Aadhar Card of all the members
One photo of all the members
Inter-se Agreement (either registered or unregistered) made by all members of the SHG, stating their decision to open a Savings Account with the bank and identifying two or three members to jointly manage the account
Copy of the passbook for the existing account with a bank
If the SHG does not have an existing bank account, a letter of introduction from the Village Sarpanch or Village Administrative Office (VAO) in rural areas will be accepted
Proof of Identity & Address of Authorized Signatories
1. Voter ID card of members
2. Bank passbook (with a photograph of the client) issued by the bank where the account has been open for at least three months, along with an account opening cheque from the same account.
Other necessary documents besides KYC
1. SHPI Recommendation Letter
2. Repayment track record if the SHG is linked with any other bank or financial institution
Sanction letter and repayment statement (Statement of Account) for active loans
