Important Features of the KSFE Vidyashree Laptop Scheme

The total amount for the scheme is Rs. 15,000/-, which needs to be repaid within 30 months by paying Rs. 500/- each month. A member who enrolls in the scheme will receive Rs. 14,250/- after deducting the commission. Furthermore, there are incentives for Neighbourhood Groups (NHGs) and their members for prompt repayment.
Interested members with a good credit repayment history from any neighbourhood groups that have completed six months can join the group through their respective NHGs.
Members who join the Vidyashree scheme to acquire a laptop will receive their laptop by paying the cost (up to Rs. 14,250/-) to the approved agencies by KSFE starting from the third month of the scheme. Others who join the scheme as a means of saving can withdraw their money starting from the 13th month after joining.
The IT Department will negotiate and empanel agencies to provide laptops at a discounted rate.
The interest for this Micro Credit Program will be shared equally by the Government of Kerala and KSFE.
