Sikhashree Form 2024 PDF in Bengali: This is a New/Renewal application form for the Sikshashree Scholarship only for those students who are studying in class 5th to class 8th and this form can be downloaded from the link given at the bottom of this page. In the Sikshashree Scheme, day scholar students who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, have low family income and are studying in class 5th to 8th class will be given a stipend of Rs. 800 per year.

This Scholarship is sanctioned for Day Scholars of Class V – VIII in West Bengal, and whose family / Parents’ income should not be more than 2.5 lakhs per annum are eligible.
Sikhashree Scheme West Bengal
Formerly day-scholar students of class V-VIII belonging to the Scheduled Caste category enjoyed two grants namely
- Assistance in the form of book grants and
- Assistance in the form of maintenance grants.
The number of such grants was meager and did not serve the intended purpose. Further, the method of selection of candidates and that of disbursements is cumbersome and time-consuming.
‘Shikshashree’ scheme of providing assistance to SC day scholars of Class V-VIII is evolved by merging the existing schemes of Book Grant and Maintenance Grants. It is applicable to the day scholars of West Bengal reading in class V-VIII in any Government, Government-aided and all Government-recognized schools of West Bengal.
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the SC students reading in classes V to VIII to improve their participation in Pre-matric stages and minimize the incidence of drop-out, especially in the case of female students.
