శ్రీదేవీ శరన్నవరాత్రులు ప్రారంభించే ముందురోజునాటికే పూజాసామగ్రి, పూజాద్రవ్యాలు, హోమద్రవ్యాలు సిద్దం చేసుకోవాలి. పూజామందిరంలో 9 అంగుళాలు ఎత్తుగల పీరాన్ని ఏర్పరచుకొని, పీఠముపై ఎర్రని వస్త్రము పఱచి, బియ్యము పోసి, దానిపై సువర్ణ, రజిత, లేదా తామ్రా కలశమును ఉంచి, కలశమునకు దారములు చుట్టి, కలశములో పరిశుద్ద నదీజలములను నింపి, అందు లవంగములు, యాలకులు, జాజికాయ, పచ్చకర్పూరు మొదలగు సువర్ణద్రవ్యాలు వేసి, నవరత్నాలు, పంచలోహాలను వేసి, పసుపు, కుంకుమ, రక్తచందన, చందనాదులను వేసి, మామిడి, మారేడు, మోదుగ, మర్రి, జమ్మి చిగుళ్ళను ఉంచి, పరిమళ పుష్పాదులను వేసి, దానిపై పీచు తీయని, ముచ్చిక కలిగిన టెంకాయనుంచి, దానిపై ఎల్టని చీర, రవిక వేసి, కలశమును చందన, కుంకుమ, పుష్పాదులతో అలంకరించాలీ.
