Devotees who read this work daily often find themselves blessed with good health and vibrant energy.
Significance of Narayaneeyam
Narayaneeyam beautifully narrates various episodes from the Bhagavata Purana, focusing on the most devout stories. It features the divine incarnations of Vishnu and transforms these sacred moments into heartfelt prayers. The poet, Bhattathiri, pours out his soul in complete humility before the Lord, expressing deep devotion. The final dasaka, Kesadipaada Varnanam, paints a vivid picture of little Krishna, showcasing His grace and glory.
Every year, Narayaneeya Sapthaham (the recitation of Narayaneeyam along with explanations) takes place in Guruvayur temple on Narayaneeya Dinam, conducted by the Devaswom and other devotees as a form of offering. This beautiful event occurs over seven consecutive days, starting early in the morning and concluding at 6:10 p.m. The tradition of Narayaneeya Sapthaham began in Guruvayur in the early 1950s, with around 5 hours dedicated to reading the slokas and approximately 45 hours for explaining their meanings.
