Guidelines for GDS Transfer Applications

The undersigned is directed to share the approval of the Competent Authority regarding important guidelines concerning the Limited Transfer facility for Gramin Dak Sevaks. These rules replace all previous orders to ensure a smooth transfer process:

Conditions of Transfer

1. The maximum number of chances for male GDSs is ONE, while female GDSs can request for TWO chances.
2. The transfer will occur only at the individual’s own request and cost, to a vacant post at their desired location. This could be their home village, home division, or a location needed for medical treatment.
3. Male GDSs must have a minimum engagement period of TWO years from the date of their regular engagement in the GDS post before their transfer request can be considered.
4. For female GDSs, a minimum engagement period of ONE year is required from the date of their regular engagement in the GDS post.
5. For PwD GDSs and those with PwD dependents or mentally challenged dependents, a minimum engagement period of ONE year from their regular engagement in the GDS post is also necessary.
6. Transfer requests will not be accepted from GDSs who are under suspension or facing any disciplinary action, police case, or court case.
7. If a GDS is approved for transfer at their own request, they will rank junior in the seniority list of the new unit compared to the existing GDSs in that unit as of the transfer date. This rule does not apply to transfers within the same engagement or recruitment sub-division/unit/division.
