WBSEDCL New Connection Form
The main business of WBSEDCL is distribution and hydro generation of electricity. It is also the Nodal Agency of the Government of West Bengal for undertaking the Rural Electrification task in the State with the objective of providing access of electricity to all rural households in the state in line with the National Rural Electrification Policy.
The Government of West Bengal unbundled the erstwhile West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) into two companies viz., West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL). WBSEDCL New Connection Online Apply
- Application Form (Procedure A) may be collected from the concerned Customer Care Center of WBSEDCL @ Rs 5 only.
- Application Form (Procedure A ) may be downloaded from the WBSEDCL website (www.wbsedcl.in), free of cost.
WBSEDCL New Connection Documents
- On collection, the said form is to be submitted duly filled in along with the following documents to concerned Customer Care Center:
- One passport size photograph
- Bonafide occupation /Ownership document of the proposed premises viz Passport/Voter ID/Rent Bill/Telephone Bill /Tax Receipt of Panchayat/Municipality etc.
- All the documents will be verified by the concerned Customer Care Center and a Quotation for Service Connection Charge and Security Deposit will be issued.
- The Service Connection Charge and Security Deposit shall have to be deposited at the concerned Customer Care Center during cash hours within 90 days from the date of issuance of quotation.
- A consumer can also deposit that service connection charge and security deposit online using the website/Mobile App of WBSEDCL
Technical Feasibility
- After deposition of Quotation amount, authorized representative of WBSEDCL will inspect the premises within 3 days from date of deposition of quotation amount to ascertain:
- Whether any connection already exists (live / disconnected)? If exists, then:
- is the particular premises (new one) is physically separate from the existing premises (old one) along with electrical wiring?
- is there any O.S.D. against the old connection?
- Whether the existing system capable to deliver the demand loads?
- Whether any maintenance jobs require to be done on the existing system?
- Whether there is any Way Leave problem?
- Whether the Intending Consumer has completed his portion of work i.e. : Readiness of premises, Installation of Main Switch, Installation of earthing, Completed the wiring etc.
If any deviation is found, it will be intimated in due course.
Effecting Service Connection
On completion of statutory formalities by the prospective consumer, WBSEDCL will execute the service connection work within 7 days.
