WB North 24 Parganas Containment Zone List (Updated) - Summary
According to the Ministry of Health, a Covid-19 containment zone refers to the area where positive cases of coronavirus are found. Here is the PDF list of the containment zone, updated on 6 June 2020. Containment zones are created to map the local transmission of the disease and prevent the spread of Covid-19. The rapid response team (RRT) identifies these containment zones based on the number of cases and contacts they list and map.
Understanding Containment Zones
The RRT then marks off an area with a 3-kilometer radius around the epicenter, which is the home of the person who tested positive. If it takes longer than 24 hours to list and map all contacts, this 3 km radius becomes the containment zone.
