1. The construction worker must be registered as a beneficiary of the Board. The construction worker should regularly deposit his contributions.
2. If the beneficiary wants to claim benefits for a family member, that member must fit the definition of ‘family’ according to Rule 2(t) of the Punjab Building and other Construction Workers Rules 2008. The definition is as follows:
   “Family” means the husband or wife, minor sons (including major sons who are insane or physically handicapped and unable to earn), unmarried daughters, and the parents of the building worker, who are solely dependant on him.
3. Financial assistance will be granted based on the recommendation of a Government medical officer or the Incharge of the E.S.I Dispensary. If the beneficiary or any family member has already received financial help for these items from other sources, they cannot benefit from this scheme.
4. This scheme allows the beneficiary or their family member to receive benefits only once.
5. The assistance amount will be either the actual expenditure or the financial assistance amount—whichever is less—based on the actual bills submitted.
