Benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a fully funded Central Sector Scheme by the Government of India.
This scheme provides income support of Rs.6000/- per year to farmer families across India, given in three installments of Rs.2000/- every four months.
The State/UT Governments are responsible for identifying the eligible farmer families.
Funds are transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Farmers who meet the Exclusion Criteria as per the Operational Guidelines are not eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
To enroll, farmers must go to the local patwari/revenue officer or the Nodal Officer (PM-Kisan) designated by the State Government.
Common Service Centres (CSCs) can help in registering farmers for this scheme for a nominal fee.
Farmers also have the option to self-register through the Farmers Corner available on the portal.
Farmers can update their names in the PM-Kisan database according to their Aadhaar information using the Farmers Corner on the portal.
Farmers can check their payment status through the Farmers Corner on the portal.

Exclusion Categories

The following categories of individuals with higher economic status are not eligible for benefits under this scheme:
(a) All Institutional Landholders.
(b) Families of farmers with one or more members in the following categories:
i) Current and former holders of constitutional posts.
ii) Current and former Ministers/State Ministers and past or present Members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assemblies/Councils, as well as former and current Mayors of Municipal Corporations and Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
iii) All serving or retired officials and employees of Central/State Government Ministries/Departments and their field units, as well as central or state PSUs and autonomous organisations under the Government, excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees.
iv) All retired pensioners receiving a monthly pension of Rs.10,000/- or more, except Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees within the above categories.
v) All individuals who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year.
vi) Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with professional bodies who are actively practicing their profession.
