సనాతన హిందూ ధర్మంలో మన పూర్వీకులు లేదా మరణించిన వారి మోక్షాన్ని కాంక్షిస్తూ పితృ పక్షంలో శ్రాద్ధం, తర్పణం, పిండదానం మొదలైన వాటిని చేసే సంప్రదాయం ఉంది. పితృ పక్షంలో పూర్వీకులకు భక్తితో శ్రాద్ధ కర్మలను నిర్వహించడం వల్ల వారికి మోక్షం లభించడమే కాకుండా వారి అనుగ్రహం కూడా లభిస్తుందని విశ్వాసం. పితృ పక్షంలో పెద్దలు నిష్క్రమించిన వారి తిథి ప్రకారం శ్రద్ధ కర్మలను జరుపుతారు. అయితే పితృ పక్షంలోని 16 రోజుల్లో మాతృ నవమి తిథి నాడు చేసే శ్రద్ధ కర్మలు అత్యంత ప్రత్యేకం. ఈ సంవత్సరం మాతృ నవమి తిథి ఎప్పుడు జరుపుకోవాలి, చేసే విధానం ఏమిటి తదితర వివరాల గురించి ఈరోజు తెలుసుకుందాం.
మాతృ నవమి రోజున.. ఉదయాన్నే సూర్యోదయానికి ముందే నిద్రలేచి, స్నానం చేసి, శుభ్రమైన బట్టలు ధరించి.. నది ఒడ్డున పూర్వీకులకు శ్రాద్ధ కర్మ నిర్వహించాలి. ఇందుకోసం ముందుగా టేబుల్‌పై తెల్లటి బట్టను మరణించిన మహిళ చిత్రపటాన్ని ఉంచి.. ఆమె చిత్ర పటం లేకపోతే, అక్కడ పూజ కోసం తమలపాకును ఉంచి, దానిపై పూలు, తులసి, గంగాజలం సమర్పించి నువ్వుల దీపం వెలిగించాలి. ఆమె ఫోటో ముందు అగరబత్తులు వెలిగించి ఆరాధించాలి. వీలైతే గరుడ పురాణం, గజేంద్ర మోక్షం లేదా భగవద్గీతలోని తొమ్మిదవ అధ్యాయం చదవండి లేదా వినండి. అనంతరం ఆహారాన్ని దక్షిణ దిశలో ఉంచి.. బ్రాహ్మణుడికి పెట్టండి. మీ ఆర్ధిక సామర్థ్యాన్ని బట్టి దానం చేయండి. ఈ రోజున రాగి పాత్రలో నీళ్లు, నల్ల నువ్వులు కలిపి పూర్వీకులకు తర్పణం ఇవ్వడం మరచిపోవద్దు.

Pitru Tarpan Vidhi Telugu (పితృ తర్పణం ఎలా చేయాలి)
- During Shraad, rituals are performed on the tithi when the ancestor dies, as per the lunar calendar.
- Those who are performing the puja have to get up early and take a bath.
- The person performing the puja has to bear a ring made out of darbha grass.
- Sit in the place of worship and make sure your surroundings are calm and peaceful.
- Invoke the ancestors following this.
- The person performing the puja wears a sacred thread, and the position of this thread is changed multiple times while conducting the puja.
- Perform a pind daan where water is taken in both hands and slowly released.
- Special food is prepared on this day using a satvic recipe. This food is then fed to the cows, the dogs, the crows, and the ants.
- The food is also offered to the ancestors by putting it in the fire of the havan kunda.
- Brahmins are offered this food as well, along with dakshina.
- Join hands and pray for the ancestors to achieve liberation and seek their blessings.
- Charitable actions performed during this time are said to be greatly rewarded.
