The scheme is designed to support the education and upbringing of children from underprivileged or orphaned families.
Mission Vatsalya Application Form – Eligibility Criteria
- Children of widowed, divorced, or abandoned mothers
- Orphaned children living with other family members
- Children of parents suffering from life-threatening diseases
- Children of helpless parents who cannot provide financial and physical support
- Children in need of protection and care as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act – 2015
- Children who have been certified under the PM CARE FOR CHILDREN scheme
- Children who have lost their father or whose mother is widowed or divorced and can provide proof from the court or a signed document in front of village elders
- Children who are orphaned and living with other family members
- Parents undergoing life-threatening illnesses
- Recognized child laborers, children without families, differently-abled children, runaways, street children, and those affected by natural disasters
- Children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19 and are registered under the PM CARES scheme
