ICPS Scheme - Summary

The Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) is specifically designed to implement the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, which was later updated to the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, effective from 15th January 2016. Moreover, the state has created a Juvenile Justice Fund to provide essential resources and facilities for juveniles. The core purpose of the ICPS is to establish a safe and secure environment for children who are in conflict with the law, as well as for those who require care and support.
Key Features of the ICPS Scheme
Under the umbrella of the Integrated Child Development Services scheme, the Ministry manages a centrally sponsored Child Protection Services (CPS) scheme, previously known as ICPS. This initiative aims to assist children in difficult situations across all states and Union Territories (UTs). Additionally, the government has launched Mission Vatsalya to effectively address various challenges that children face today.
