Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an essential role in India’s economy by creating job opportunities, boosting economic growth, and fostering industrial development. To assist in the growth and success of MSMEs, the Indian government offers a variety of schemes and programmes.

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises-Development Organisation (MSME-DO) is led by the Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (MSME). This office supports the Ministry in creating, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring policies and programmes aimed at promoting and developing MSMEs across the country.

MSME Schemes List in India

Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP): This scheme focuses on creating self-employment opportunities by helping establish micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector, along with providing financial assistance.
Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE): CGTMSE offers credit guarantee coverage to financial institutions for loans given to MSMEs, making it easier for them to obtain credit without needing collateral.
MUDRA Loan Scheme: The Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana provides loans to micro and small businesses to support their growth and expansion. It has three categories of loans: Shishu, Kishor, and Tarun, based on the business development stage.
Stand-Up India: This scheme promotes entrepreneurship among women, SC/ST, and minority communities by providing loans for setting up new businesses in manufacturing, services, or trading.
Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS): TUFS provides financial support to textile and jute industries for modernizing their machinery and technology.
National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP): NMCP includes various initiatives to boost the competitiveness of manufacturing businesses, such as Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness for MSMEs (LMCS) and the Design Clinics Scheme.
Cluster Development Programme (CDP): CDP aids the development of industrial clusters by funding infrastructure improvements, technology upgrades, and common facility centers.
Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS): This scheme offers capital subsidies to MSMEs for enhancing their technology by replacing old machinery with new, energy-efficient models.
Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG): EPCG enables MSMEs to import capital goods to produce quality products and services, improving their ability to compete in exports.
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Schemes: NSIC provides various schemes for MSMEs, including assistance with raw materials, marketing support, performance ratings, and more.
