Karnataka Ratna Award List
The Karnataka Ratna is the highest civilian honour of the State of Karnataka, India. It is awarded in recognition of a person’s extraordinary contribution in any field. It was instituted in the year 1992 by Chief Minister S Bangarappa by the Government of Karnataka. A total of ten persons have received this award.
Recently Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar is awarded posthumously with the state’s highest civilian award of Karnataka Ratna on 1 Nov 2022 at 67th Kannada Rajyotsava. He is popularly known as Appu and is a power star. He is the winner of the national award as a child artist for his film Bettada Hoovu and his father Dr. Rajkumar has also won the Karnataka Ratna Award in 1992.
