Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja Vidhi

To begin the Vinayaka Chaturthi puja, place a fresh piece of red cloth on a wooden platform and carefully set the idol of Lord Ganesha there. Light a lamp and incense sticks to create a sacred atmosphere. Invoke Lord Ganesha into the idol and worship him with devotion.

If your idol is made of Pancha Dhatu (a mix of five metals), remember to perform the Abhishekham with Panchamrit, which consists of banana or other fruits, milk, curd, ghee, and sugar or honey.

After the Abhishekham, gently wipe the Ganpati idol with a fresh piece of cotton cloth.

You can offer mouli (sacred thread) or a small piece of new cloth (preferably yellow) as a mark of respect to the deity. Next, place a Janeyu around the idol’s torso, ensuring it rests on the left shoulder and diagonally wraps under the right shoulder. Add a tika using haldi and kumkum on his forehead.

Offering red hibiscus or any other flower is a lovely addition. Don’t forget the Durva grass, which is special for Ganesha puja.

Recite the Ganesha Moola Mantra and offer Modak, fresh fruits (like Guava, Pomegranate, Orange, Apple, and Pear), Bananas, Coconut, Paan, and Supari to the Lord.

With folded hands and closed eyes, pray to him, seeking his divine blessings.

To conclude the puja, sing the Ganpati Aarti, expressing your devotion.
