Varalakshmi Vratham Book
Another classic tale associated with Varamahalakshmi Vratha is the story of Shyamabala, the daughter of King Bathrasiravas and Queen Surachandrika. She had married a prince from a faraway kingdom.
One day, Shyamabala witnessed her mother, Queen Surachandrika, dismissing an elderly woman who came to ask for Varalakshmi puja. The Queen, feeling that a beggar had no right to advise her on such matters, turned her away.
Shyamabala, with her compassionate heart, welcomed the old lady and learned about the greatness of the Varalakshmi Vrata. Inspired, she returned to her kingdom and performed the Vrata as instructed. As a result, her realm prospered, and the prince was admired for his wise rule.
