Understanding Quran Para 1
The Quran is the Holy book of Muslims. Allah Almighty divided the Holy Quran into 30 Paras to make it easier for Muslims to read and memorize the Quran. The Quran contains 114 Surahs, which are further divided into Ayats and Rukus. The first Para, or Juz, of the Quran is Alif-laam-meem (آلم), which has 2 Surahs: Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Baqarah. The second Para, or Juz, Sayaqūlu (سَيَقُولُ), contains only 1 Surah, which is Surah Al-Baqarah.
Details of Quran Para 1
The first Para or Juz is known as Alif-laam-meem (آلم), and it comprises 2 Surahs: Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Baqarah.
Each Juz or Para divides the Quran into thirty sections, each with varying lengths. The most memorized Juz of the Quran is Juz number 30, consisting of shorter Surahs, making them easier to learn and remember. Initially, during the time of the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him), the Quran was divided based solely on Surahs. The division of the Quran into Paras or Juz was later introduced by Caliph Umar ibn Khattab.
