This PL Form PDF can be easily downloaded from the official website dop.rajasthan.gov.in, or you can directly download it from the link provided at the bottom of this page. Privilege leave (PL) means ‘रियायती छुट्टी’ in Hindi. Just like Earned Leave (EL), PL is granted after working for a certain number of days, but the rules for the number of days differ.
You can take these leaves for pre-planned events like going on a trip with your children during their school holidays or participating in family celebrations such as birthdays or wedding anniversaries. PL, also known as official leave, is a type of leave that is granted to government employees for a specific number of days each year. The main purpose of PL is to allow employees to rest and take time off when needed. The amount of PL granted depends on the employee’s eligibility and the duration of their service.

Rules for Earned Leave (EL) or Privilege Leave (PL)
Both EL (Earned Leave) and PL (Privilege Leave) are forms of earned leave. They are granted based on the same principle of taking leave after working for a certain number of days. However, they differ in their bases:
- EL is given under the Factories Act to employees working in companies. The rule is to take 1 EL for every 20 days worked, allowing a total of 18 EL in a year. However, rules may vary depending on the states and industries, with some companies providing more than thirty days of leave.
- PL is provided to employees working in shops or institutions under the Shops & Establishment Act. The rule allows taking 5 PL for every 4 months worked, resulting in a total of 15 PL in a year.
- For those starting or leaving a job mid-year, the Pro rata basis (based on the total working days) rule applies, just like with Casual Leave (CL).
