Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) Financial Assistance Amount
- A person who is a beneficiary of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana will receive the following benefits:-
- Rs. 500 per month for all beneficiaries aged between 60 to 79 years.
- Rs. 700 per month for all beneficiaries aged 80 years and above.
- The pension amount due to the beneficiary is disbursed on the 15th of every month during JANA SEWA DIWAS. It is given in denominations of Rs. 100 by the Block Development Officer (BDO) or any officer under the BDO in rural areas, and by the District Social Security Officer (DSSO) or any officer under the DSSO at the municipal office in urban areas.
- The Odisha government invites the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) online application form 2020 at ssepd.gov.in. This scheme has been in place since January 2008, created by merging two earlier schemes: the Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989, and the Disability Pension Rules, 1985, leading to the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Rules, 2008.
Odisha Madhu Babu Pension (MBPY) – Eligibility Criteria
A person will be eligible for the pension if he/she:
- Is 60 years of age or older
- Or is a widow (irrespective of age)
- Or is a leprosy patient with visible signs of deformity (irrespective of age)
- Or is any person aged 0 years or above, unable to carry out normal work due to deformity or disability, including blindness, orthopedic handicaps, mental retardation, or cerebral palsy
- Or is a widow of an AIDS patient (irrespective of age and at any income level as per Rule 6(b))
- Or is an AIDS patient identified by the State / District AIDS Control Society (without regard to income as per Rule 6(b))
- Or is a woman undergoing divorce proceedings in court (irrespective of age)
- Or is a transgender individual (irrespective of age)
- Has a family income from all sources not exceeding Rs. 24,000 per annum (certified by the concerned Tehsildar). For transgender individuals, the annual income should not exceed Rs. 40,000 per annum
- Is a permanent resident or domicile of Odisha.
