महाराष्ट्र राज्यामध्ये मुलींचे शिक्षण व आरोग्य यामध्ये सुधारणा करणे, त्यांच्या उज्ज्वल भविष्यासाठी आर्थिक तरतूद करणे, बालिका भ्रुणहत्या रोखणे, मुलींचे जन्माबाबत समाजामध्ये सकारात्मक विचार आणणे, बालविवाह रोखणे आणि मुला इतका मुलींचा जन्मदर वाढविणे यासाठी सुकन्या योजना दिनांक १ जानेवारी २०१४ पासून दारिद्रय रेषेखाली जन्मणा-या प्रत्येक मुलीसाठी कुटुंबातील २ अपत्यापर्यंत लागू करण्यात आली होती. सदर योजनेचा शासन निर्णय दिनांक १३ फेब्रुवारी २०१४ रोजी निर्गमित करण्यात आलेला आहे. त्यानुसार योजनेची अंमलबजावणी आयुक्त, महिला व बालविकास पुणे यांच्याकडून करण्यात येत होती.

Moreover, any village that achieves a Child Sex Ratio of more than 1000 will be awarded Rs. 5,00,000 by the Hon. Minister of the WCD Dept. Families with an annual income of up to 7.5 lakh are eligible for this scheme.
