Important Information About the Higher Pension Declaration
The EPFO circular released on February 20, 2023, states that the EPF commissioner will provide details about the form and the correct method for eligible employees to submit their applications. At present, an online platform for applying for a higher pension has not yet been introduced. Eligible employees must provide specific documents, including an undertaking to allow the transfer of funds from the provident fund to the pension fund. Additionally, they must submit proof of the employer’s share in the provident fund for salaries that exceed the current wage ceiling of ₹5,000 or ₹6,500, along with the Joint Declaration Form.
Deadline for Submission
Remember that the last date to submit your application for a higher pension under the EPS is March 3, 2023, which is just seven days away! The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) shared guidelines on who is eligible and how to apply for a higher pension for current employees on February 20.
With only seven days remaining, including a weekend, it may be difficult for eligible employees to fully understand the requirements and collect the necessary documents to submit their applications for a higher pension.
