Joint Declaration Form For Higher Pension - Summary
The Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has recently announced that employees can soon file a declaration to opt for higher pensions alongside their employers on the EPFO portal. If you wish to avail yourself of a higher pension under the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) 1995, it is essential to submit the Joint Declaration Form For Higher Pension PDF.
Important Information About the Higher Pension Declaration
The EPFO circular issued on February 20 states that the EPF commissioner will outline the form and method for eligible employees to submit their applications. Currently, an online window to apply for a higher pension is yet to be introduced. Eligible employees must provide certain documents, including an undertaking to permit the transfer of funds from the provident fund to the pension fund. They also need to submit proof of the employer’s share in the provident fund for higher wages that exceed the existing wage ceiling of ₹5,000 or ₹6,500, along with the aforementioned joint option form.
Deadline for Submission
The last date to submit your application for a higher pension under the EPS is March 3, 2023, which is just seven days away. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) published guidelines on eligibility and methods for applying for a higher pension for current employees on February 20, 2023.
Having only seven days, including one weekend, can make it challenging for eligible employees to fully grasp the requirements and gather the necessary documents to apply for a higher pension.
