Guidelines for International Arrivals - Summary
The Union Health Ministry recently released updated guidelines for international arrivals, replacing those from August 2. It is crucial for all travelers to submit a self-declaration form on the portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before their planned travel or submit the form physically upon arrival at the designated health counters.
Additional State Restrictions
States have the authority to impose additional restrictions related to quarantine and isolation based on their own assessments following the arrival of passengers. This means that local guidelines may vary and should be checked in advance.
Traveler Undertakings
Travelers must also provide an undertaking on the portal, or directly to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, through the relevant airlines, prior to boarding their flights. This undertaking is a commitment to follow the guidelines set by the government regarding facility/home quarantine or self-monitoring of their health for a period of 14 days, or longer if deemed necessary.
In some urgent situations, such as pregnancy, a family member’s death, serious illness, or for parents traveling with children aged 10 years or below, home quarantine may be allowed for a duration of 14 days.
