The Government of Goa is pleased to approve the “Animal Health and Welfare Policy” of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Government of Goa, for the period 2020-25.

Goa covers an area of 3702 square kilometers and comprises two revenue districts – North Goa and South Goa. It is bordered by Maharashtra and Karnataka across the Western Ghats of India, and
the Arabian Sea on the east. According to the 2011 census, the human population of the State of Goa is 1.82 Million.
