What is Gender Studies
Beliefs about what is male or female influence our lives and in fact all products, from clothes and advertisements to social and cultural representations. Our personality and image too are many times determined by the fact that we are male or female! The connotation of gender can change as it is a culturally constructed idea of what sex difference means and this may differ from place to place and in different contexts. Often, society conflates sex and gender and views them as the same thing.
Gender is a categorizing code in our society and culture. It is an extraordinary discerning means in the distribution of education, employment, manual labour, care, possession, income generation, organisational aspects or ill health.
