The Aswasakiranam Scheme is designed to help caregivers of physically and mentally disabled bed-ridden patients, focusing on their family members or relatives. This scheme provides a monthly support of Rs. 600/- to caregivers who are unable to work and earn a living. The support is beneficial to those who dedicate their time and efforts to care for their loved ones.
Launched on 02/08/10, this scheme ensures that any caregiver who has been providing services to patients from that date will receive monthly assistance, and this support is given retroactively. The monthly assistance is in addition to any pension that may be provided to the patient.
Aswasakiranam Scheme Form Kerala (Required Details)
- Medical certificate attested by Govt./ Vayomithram/ NRHM doctors.
- Attested copy of BPL ration card / BPL certificate issued by Panchayat or Municipality or Corporation / Income certificate issued by a village officer as proof of the patient’s income.
- Attested copy of Aadhar card or confirmation slip received.
COVERAGE OF DISEASES
- All bed-ridden patients needing a full-time caregiver.
- Mentally challenged patients (including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, mental retardation, and mental illness).
- 100% blind or bed-ridden cancer patients, and elderly bed-ridden individuals.
- Patients with brittle bone disease.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals who are totally bed-ridden and at home due to a debilitating disability (physical, functional, or mental).
- Those who cannot perform day-to-day activities without the assistance of another person.
- Families belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, as per the BPL list and ration card.
