This plan ensures that every household has access to essential financial services such as Banking/Savings & Deposit Accounts, Remittances, Credit, Insurance, and Pension in a cost-effective way. The scheme envisions that every family will have at least one basic banking account, while also enhancing financial literacy and providing access to essential services like credit and insurance. Beneficiaries of PMJDY receive a RuPay Debit card, which includes an accident insurance cover of ₹1 lakh.
