New Guidelines for International Arrivals in India - Summary
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, along with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has issued updated guidelines for international arrivals in India in response to the increasing cases of mutant strains of COVID-19. These fresh guidelines will replace all previous instructions that have been in effect since August 2, 2020. The Standard Operating Procedure will be active from 22nd February 2021 (23:59 Hrs IST) until further notice, as stated by MoCA.
Essential Information for International Passengers
Only travelers visiting India for emergency reasons, such as the death of a family member, can arrive without a Covid-negative report. However, they must request an exemption through the online portal at least 72 hours before their flight.
Throughout the journey, wearing masks, maintaining social distance, and having the Aarogya Setu app on their devices is crucial for all passengers. Upon arrival, passengers will go through thermal scanning and must show the self-declaration online form they submitted earlier. If any passenger shows symptoms during screening, they will be isolated immediately and taken to medical facilities for care.
