Eligibility for Account Opening

An individual residing in India who does not already have a savings account with Axis Bank can open a new savings account. If there is an existing account, it must be closed for eligibility to open the Basic Savings Account. Please note that once the Basic Savings Account is opened, having another savings account with Axis Bank is not allowed.

Documents Required for Savings Account for Individuals

Two recent passport-sized photographs
Address and identity proof documents
Identity proof documents include:
Proof of possession of Aadhaar number
Passport
Driving Licence
Voter ID Card (issued by the Election Commission of India)
NREGA job card duly signed by a State Government officer
Only one copy of a document is needed if it serves as both address and identity proof, e.g., Passport/Aadhar Card.
If your mailing address is different from your permanent address, provide proof for both.

Documents Required for Savings Account for a Hindu Undivided Family

Copy of Aadhaar Card / Form 60 of HUF
Declaration from the Karta (head of the family)
Proof of identification and address of Karta as per individual documentation
Prescribed Joint Hindu Family Letter signed by all adult holders

Documents Required for Joint Basic Savings Account

Address and identity proof documents for both applicants
The address proof can be only of the first holder, provided there is relationship proof between both holders.
