The pension amount under the YSR Pension Kanuka Scheme will increase by Rs. 250 every year. By the fourth year, the monthly pension is expected to reach Rs. 3,000, fulfilling the promise made during the elections.
The age limit for old age pension beneficiaries has been lowered from 65 years to 60 years, as per the latest order from the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development department.
Every senior citizen, widow, weaver, toddy tapper, fisherman, single woman, traditional cobbler, and person living with HIV will now receive a monthly pension of Rs. 2,250.
The new directive confirms that all disabled individuals will receive a monthly pension of Rs. 3,000. Previously, individuals with 40% to 79% disability received Rs. 2,000, while those with over 80% disability got Rs. 3,000.
Chronic kidney patients who are undergoing dialysis will see their pension amount greatly increased from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 10,000.
