This special day falls during the month of Ashadha and is known as Uthana Dwadashi, marking the awakening of Lord Vishnu, who is in a deep sleep. Devotees often perform this sacred ritual with the intention of pleasing God and seeking blessings.
How to Celebrate Tulasi Pooja
If possible, place a Tulasi plant in front of the Dhatri tree for the pooja. If that is not feasible, you can keep the Tulasi near the Vrindavan or at the foot of the Dhatri tree. In this setup, place an idol of Lord Krishna or Saligram in front and perform the pooja. Don’t forget to decorate the Tulasi with beautiful rangoli and color it.
Steps for Offering Tulasi Pooja
After performing the pooja of God, the next step is to worship the Tulasi. When you make offerings, first offer to the deity, then to Mahalakshmi, followed by the Prana Deva, and finally to the Tulasi with devotion. You should prepare food items to offer according to your capacity.
During the pooja, especially at times like noon and evening, light a ghee lamp with five, seven, or nine gooseberries in it. This is essential for performing Aarti.
The divine Tulasi, revered in every household, attracts positive energy, bringing peace and prosperity to the family. She symbolizes strength and purity, believed to be a source of abundance. The celebration of Tulasi Vivaha or Tulasi marriage occurs every year, showcasing the devotion of the devotees on this auspicious day. This event is commonly known as Tulasi Ayan, Tulasi Festival, or Tulasi Vivah.
ಪರಿಕ್ರಮ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ತುಳಸಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಂತ್ರ
- “ಯಾನಿಕಾನಿಚಾ ಪಾಪನಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಹತ್ಯ ಅದಿಕಾನಿಚಾ ತಾತ್ಸರ್ವಂ ವಿಲಾಯಂ ಯತಿ ತುಳಸಿ ತ್ವತ್ ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿನಾಥ್.”
- ತುಳಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಂ ಮಂತ್ರ “ಮಹಾಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಜನನಿ ಸರ್ವಸೌಭವ್ಯ ವರ್ಧಿನಿ ಅಧಿವಾಧಿ ಹರೀ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ತುಳಸಿ ತ್ವಾಮ್ ಸಮೋಸ್ತುತೇ.”
- ತುಳಸಿ ದಳವನ್ನು ಕೀಳುವಾಗ ಅಥವಾ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವಾಗ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಂತ್ರ. ” ಕೃಷ್ಣ ವಾಸುದೇವಾಯ ದೇವಕಿ ನಂದನಾಯಚ ನಂದಗೋಪ್ ಕುಮಾರಾಯ ಗೋವಿಂದಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ.”
