Sarpanch Election Nomination Form
At the time of writing the nomination, any aspiring member for the Lok Sabha (General elections) or state Assembly elections must provide a set of minimum required documents to the returning officer.
The following is a list of all the documents that a candidate must provide, failing which his application will be canceled.
Eligibility for Sarpanch Candidates
Any potential applicant must be an Indian citizen.
Age Criteria for Sarpanch Candidates
- A candidate must be 25 years old or older to run for Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha elections.
- A candidate must be at least 30 years old to run for the Rajya Sabha election.
- A candidate must also be at least 30-years-old to be a member of the Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad).
- To run in any sort of election, a candidate’s name must be on the current electoral roll of any Parliamentary constituencies, state legislature, or assembly seats.
Oath of Sarpanch
After completing all of the important and appropriate details, the aspiring member must swear an oath before the returning officer/assistant returning officer in the specified manner as stated in the 3rd schedule of the constitution.
