Eligibility and medical criteria
Candidates applying for the Station Master post must satisfy the following conditions:
- Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Age limit: 20 to 30 years as of 1 January 2027, with relaxation of 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC and ST candidates.
- Medical fitness: Must strictly meet the A-2 medical standard, requiring distant vision of 6/9, 6/9 without glasses, and passing color vision and binocular tests.
- Application fee: ₹500 for unreserved male candidates (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT) and ₹250 for SC, ST, female, PwBD, and EWS candidates (full refund after appearing in CBT).
The selection differs from general RRB NTPC recruitment as the Station Master role is decoupled into CEN 08/2026. The examination stages include a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) covering Mathematics, General Intelligence, Reasoning, and General Awareness, followed by a mandatory Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT).
