Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at Workplace Act in English
The UIDAI Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 is a legislative act in India that seeks to protect women from sexual harassment at their place of work. It was passed by the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the Indian Parliament) on 3 September 2012.
Provisions regarding prohibiting sexual harassment of women at work-place are contained in Rule 3-C of CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and Government of India’s Instruction No. 25 under it. These provisions provide that no Government servant shall indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any woman at her work place. Every Government servant who is in-charge of a work place shall take appropriate steps to prevent sexual harassment to any woman at such work place.
