- Only individuals belonging to the non-creamy layer can apply for this certificate.
- If either or both parents are employed in Group C and D of the Central Government or in Group II, III, and IV of the Tamil Nadu State Government, the applicant can apply for the certificate.
- If a person’s parent is in Group B of the Central Government or Group I of the Tamil Nadu State Government, and they have no income, the person is eligible to apply for an OBC certificate.
- If the husband works for the Central Government, his wife can apply for the OBC certificate, provided her parents have no income.
- Certain castes under BC and MBC that are not included in the Central Government’s OBC category cannot apply.
- Parents working in Group A services such as IPS, IAS, and IFS are not eligible for the certificate.
- If both parents work in Group B and C of the Central Government and Group I of the State Government, the applicant is not eligible.
- If the applicant’s parents’ income exceeds 8 lakhs, they are ineligible to apply.
