Margadeepam Scholarship Form 2026 - Summary
Kerala Government has started a new scholarship called Margadeepam Scholarship 2026. This scholarship gives money to students from Class 1 to Class 8 who are studying in government-aided schools in Kerala. The aim is to help children continue their studies without worrying about school fees.
The Minority Welfare Department of Kerala will take care of this scholarship. Students from different communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis can apply.

Eligibility Criteria for Margadeepam Scholarship 2026
To apply for the Margadeepam Scholarship 2026, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Residency: The student must be a permanent resident of Kerala.
- Income Limit: The family’s annual income must not exceed INR 1 lakh.
- Academic Level: The student must be enrolled in classes 1st to 8th in a government-aided institution in Kerala.
- Additional Conditions: In cases of disabilities, the student must provide a valid disability certificate with at least 40% disability.
- Community Reservation: Scholarships will be awarded based on the population ratio of various communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis.
- Female Students: 30% of the scholarship funds are reserved for female students. In case seats remain available, male students will be considered.
Financial Benefits
The selected students will receive a financial benefit of INR 1,500 to assist with educational expenses. This amount will help students cover their school fees and other related costs, ensuring they have access to education regardless of their financial situation.
Eligiblity Cretieria for Margadeepam Schelarship Scheme
- Scholarships are provided to minority students (Muslim, Christian (all sects), Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) studying in government schools/government aided schools from class 1 to class 8.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-.
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Kerala.
- 30% of scholarships are reserved for girls, but boys will be considered if there are not enough applications from girls.
- More than two students from the family are eligible for the scholarship.
- During the application verification, the head of the institution should verify the name details on the ration card and ensure that no more than two students from the same family have submitted an application.
- If the application for the scholarship is received for the third time from the same family, the principal must reject the application.
- A student receiving benefits under this scheme is not eligible to receive scholarship benefits under other schemes.

Margadeepam Scholarship Application Form PDF – How to Apply
The application process for the Margadeepam Scholarship 2026 is entirely online. Here are the steps to apply:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Margadeepam Scholarship at margadeepam.kerala.gov.in and locate the “Registration/Login” section.
Step 2: Click on the “Official Login” option, which will direct you to the login page. Click Process Application
Step 3: On the next page, enter your admission number and click on check.
Step 4: Enter the child’s information, tick the check box, and click .
(If you are a child who applied last year, you can see their information here. Just edit the necessary parts. Be careful not to change the class.)
Step 5: Then, enter the Parental Status, Students with Disability, and Academic Grade details. After entering all the required information, click “SAVE AND CONTINUE.”
Note: Scholarship eligibility is based on factors such as family income, deceased parents, disability status, and academic grade. Therefore, make sure that children with different eligibility criteria are not included together.
Step 6: After completing the DOCUMENT, click the COMPLETE PROCESS button.
Step 7: Then login as principal https://www.margadeepam.kerala.gov.in/user/login
Step 8: Click VERIFY APPLICATION .
Step 9: Click the VIEW button .
Step 10: If you want to see the uploaded files , click on ATTACHMENTS and see. Similarly, to make changes to Parental status , Students with disability, and Academic Grade, click on the Update Criteria button and make the necessary changes.
Step 11: Then, select the required option from Approve Application, Remove Application, and Reject Application and click on the Process Application link to complete the application submission ( use the Remove Application link if you need to correct the errors in the application and resubmit it. Please note that if you Reject Application , you will not be able to submit the application later this year )
Step 12: Review all the entered details and click “Apply for Scholarship” to complete the application process.
