List of UGC Approved Journals - Summary
A UGC-approved journal generally refers to a research journal that was recognized under the University Grants Commission’s UGC-CARE (Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics) List. However, an important update is that UGC discontinued the UGC-CARE journal listing system in 2025.
UGC’s July 16, 2025 notice says that the previous list of 1,474 UGC-CARE journals as of February 10, 2025 is now available only as a reference resource, and inclusion in that archived list does not mean current UGC validation or endorsement
