The Indian Nursing Council is an autonomous body under the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare constituted under the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, enacted by Parliament, giving Statutory powers to maintain uniform standards and regulation of nursing education all over the country.
ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery) is a two-year diploma programme in the field of Nursing. Interested candidates can apply for an ANM diploma after passing their class 12 exam in the Science or Arts stream. GNM is a three-and-a-half-year diploma course with the eligibility of 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. The age limit is a minimum 17 years and a maximum 30 years. This course is for both male and female students. ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery): The duration of this programme is 18 months.
