IB ACIO Syllabus 2020 - Summary

The Ministry of Home Affairs organizes the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officers Examination for recruiting Group C executives at IB (Intelligence Bureau). The official notification for 2020 is yet to be released. Before you appear for the exam, it is significant to have an idea about the IB ACIO syllabus and exam pattern.

There are three phases of the exam, Tier I,II, and III, the first two phases being the writing phases followed by the personal interview in the final round.
Tier I is an objective-based paper whereas Tier II is descriptive.
The sections of Tier I include General Studies, General Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.
There is a negative marking of 0.25% for every incorrect answer in Tier I.

IB ACIO Exam Pattern for Tier I

The tier I exam has five sections that are General Studies, Qualitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Analytical ability, and English Language. There are a total of 100 questions, for one mark each, to be completed within 60 minutes.

IB ACIO Exam Pattern for Tier II

The Tier II exam is a descriptive paper, consisting of comprehension, precis, and essay writing. The time allotted to this exam is 1 hour. The total marks is 50.
