A copy of the report, shared by the petitioners’ lawyers shortly after submission, appears to support their claims regarding the presence of Hindu idols and symbols inside the Gyanvapi mosque.

Here are some apparent findings of the report:

• The pillars in the basement of the mosque show engravings of flowers and a ‘kalash’ (pitcher).
• Carvings in “ancient Hindi language” have been found on one pillar in the basement.
• A “Trishul” symbol has been identified on a wall of the basement.
• Two large pillars and an arch were discovered protruding from the mosque’s western wall. The petitioners call them temple remnants, but the mosque committee disagrees.
• A conical structure was found beneath the central dome of the mosque.
• A stone under the third dome of the mosque shows lotus engravings.
• A round structure about 2.5 feet tall was found in the pond within the mosque complex, which is used for “Wazoo” (purification before namaaz). Petitioners refer to it as a “Shivling” while the mosque committee maintains it was a fountain.

While no official reaction has come from the Gyanvapi mosque committee, sources have remarked it is “surprising” that such a significant report was shared prior to court review. Sources also state that the report does not clarify whether the video survey breaches the law, specifically the Places of Worship Act of 1991, which preserves the religious status of any place of worship as it stood on August 15, 1947.

The mosque committee has challenged the filming inside the Gyanvapi complex citing this law. Additionally, they submitted an affidavit in court opposing any demolitions inside the mosque, a request made by the original petitioners. The report, comprising three sealed boxes and a chip containing numerous video clips and photographs, will be addressed by the Varanasi court on the upcoming Monday. The Supreme Court, which is set to review an appeal against filming in the mosque, previously instructed the Varanasi court not to take further action until tomorrow evening.

तत्कालीन अधिवक्ता आयुक्त अजय कुमार मिश्रा ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में सात मई को हुई कमीशन की कार्यवाही में प्रतिवादी प्रदेश सरकार, जिलाधिकारी व पुलिस आयुक्त्त पर असहयोग का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने लिखा है कि सात मई को 100 से ज्यादा मुस्लिम पक्ष बैरिकेड के दूसरी तरफ मौजूद थे, उनके इकट्ठा होने के बाद शासन व पुलिस ने आगे की कार्यवाही में सहयोग पर असमर्थता जाहिर की।

इसके कारण कमीशन की कार्यवाही मुकम्मल रूप से नहीं की जा सकी थी। वाराणसी में सिविल जज सीनियर डिवीजन न्यायालय के आदेशानुसार प्राचीन आदि विश्वेश्वर परिसर के बारे में राखी सिंह आदि बनाम उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार आदि वाद में कोर्ट कमीशन द्वारा वीडियोग्राफी कराने के निर्देश दिए गए थे।

ज्ञानवापी मस्जिद की दीवार पर देवी-देवताओं की कलाकृति

छह और सात मई को हुई कमीशन की कार्यवाही में ज्ञानवापी मस्जिद की दीवारों पर देवी देवताओं की कलाकृतियां पाई गई हैं। तत्कालीन अधिवक्ता आयुक्त अजय कुमार मिश्रा ने बुधवार को अदालत में दाखिल रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है कि ज्ञानवापी मस्जिद की पिछली दीवार पर शेषनाग, कमल के निशान के साथ धार्मिक चिन्ह मौजूद हैं।

दीवार के उत्तर से पश्चिम की ओर से शिलापट्ट पर सिंदूरी रंग की उभरी हुई कलाकृति है। इसमें देव विग्रह के रूप में चार मूर्तियों की आकृति दिखाई दे रही है। इस आंशिक रिपोर्ट को न्यायालय ने रिकॉर्ड में ले लिया है। सिविल जज सीनियर डिवीजन की अदालत में दाखिल दो पेज की रिपोर्ट में तत्कालीन अधिवक्ता आयुक्त ने बताया कि शिलापट्ट पर चार देव विग्रह दिखाई दे रहे हैं।
