C Narayana Reddy Songs Telugu - Summary

Cingireddi Narayana Reddy, popularly known as CiNaRe, was a renowned Indian poet and writer in the Telugu language. He is celebrated for his vast contribution of over eighty literary works, including poems, prose plays, lyrical plays, translations, and ghazals. Reddy wore many hats—he was also a professor, film lyricist, actor, and a Rajya Sabha politician. His exceptional talent earned him the prestigious Jnanpith Award from the Government of India in 1988, and he also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Telugu University.

Born on 29 July 1931 in the village of Hanumajipet in present-day Telangana, Reddy hailed from a traditional Telugu family consisting of Malla Reddy and Buchamma. His father worked as a farmer, while his mother was a devoted housewife. After completing his higher secondary education, he grasped the opportunity to study at Osmania University, Hyderabad, starting in 1949. During that period, Reddy studied in Urdu medium because education in Telugu was not easily accessible under Nizam’s rule.
