Economics has a duty to the question of ‘what people ask’ rather than ‘what people ask’ from the role of social sciences studying a particular subject. The first question actually falls into the realm of ethics, aesthetics or theology. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average economist. So economics seems to be divided into ‘real’ (positive) and ‘ideal’ (normative). Real economics says that when the price of a commodity falls, the demand for that commodity increases. The ideal statement is to reduce the price of certain items. It would be fair to call it an ‘economic philosophical statement’.
