Wake up early on this day, clean the entire house, take a bath, and do the shuddhi of the puja area with Gangajal (holy water). Place the Varalakshmi portrait or idol on the puja platform after that. Make new garments, jewelry, kumkum, and flowers for Goddess Lakshmi. Offer the goddess akshat, chandan, kumkun, and sindur.
Rangoli is frequently drawn in the puja room, which is normally located inside the house. Outside the house, a kalasham (a brass or silver pitcher) is put on a tray. The pot is adorned with mango leaves and flowers. Inside the pot, auspicious objects like as rice, betel leaves, turmeric sticks, bananas, and money are placed.
